1. This morning, I tried mixing egg whites into my oatmeal. Looks good, right?
Unfortunately, this was a total failure. I don’t think I did it correctly… I mixed the dry oats with both water and egg whites. For those of you who make egg white oatmeal, can you give me some pointers? Thanks!
2. Cookie dough saved the day.
I was having a bum moment of stress and exhaustion, but then I remembered I had this little guy in my desk! Another winner. I wouldn’t say it tasted like cookie dough, per se, but it did taste just like a Snickers bar. (A Snickers with 12g of protein, I should say!)
3. I’m not as afraid of the treadmill anymore. Thanks to a good playlist and CNN, I logged 5 miles on the treadmill today after work. It was a great way to clear my head, release tension and get on with my training.
4. It was personal pizza night at my house tonight.
I took a “study” break to enjoy a delicious homemade whole wheat pizza with basil, tomato sauce, tomatoes, shrimp, feta and chili flakes, with a side of Michael Scott.
5. New dessert love! Tofu pudding with warmed frozen berries. So. Good.
I’ve been pondering ways to help- from home- with what’s going on in Haiti. Tens of thousands of people have been reported dead, and more are without shelter, food, and even water. In the meantime, please consider donating $10 to the American Red Cross. Simply text “Haiti” to 90999 and $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill.
Now, safe in the comfort of my still-standing, comfortable home, I’m going back to work. Have a great night

Glad you ran away the stress and tiredness. “The Office” is the perfect study break.
I agree with you on that Luna – not exactly cookie dough but still delicious! I haven’t tried the egg white oats but I’ve heard both good and bad things. Hope you find the trick that does it!
Sorry about the oats…they looked so good! Not sure what happened as I have never added egg whites to mine.
i hope your stress from earlier is now gone and you’ve had a lovely day! your ww pizza looks delicious! what recipe did you use for the crust? i made a ww pizza crust with oatmeal yesterday (and blogged about it, of course) so i want to try more to compare.
oh, and about how to help haiti, i also heard about wyclef jean’s relief fund. he’s from haiti and he worked it out so ALL the money he raises goes to relief for those affected, instead of only a percentage with the Red Cross (some maintains their facilities, pays for staff, advertising, etc.) my yoga teacher told me about it tonight so i can’t remember exactly what to do but i know that you text to 501501. maybe google it? also, maybe we could do a blog-fundraiser? i don’t know how that would work, but it’s worth a try!
xox
when are you going to make that chickpea thing you made awhile ago . . . its my favorite eye candy!
Those Luna bars are seriously tasty and quite convenient with their mass amounts of protein! We seriously need to have dinner soon and catch up:)
Sorry the oatmeal was a failure– but your back-up plan looks delicious! As does the tofu pudding!
I donated to UNICEF for Haiti too…but it seems like such small potatoes, you know?
I’ve been pondering making egg white oats too — I’ve never done it before, but I think I’d probably try to stir in the egg whites a couple of minutes before the rest of the oats are done. Which explains why I haven’t tried it yet; I usually make my oats in the microwave!
<3 <3
I LOVE tofu pudding! Its one of my favorite go to snacks! Ive been pondering on how to make the egg white oatmeal too. I usually have to make my oatmeal in the microwave since I eat breakfast at work. So im wondering how that works. Great job on the treadmill run too! Woohoo! A great playlist always gets me through too. Fun! I love your little smiley face next to the luna protein bar. hehe! Have a great Friday my dear!
hm i dont know why your eggw htie oatmeal didnt turn out- i usually microwave it with like a cup of water and 1/4 cup of egg whites
Tastes like a Snickers? Seriously? I am SO glad I bought that bar at Whole Foods the other day. Can’t wait to try it!
For some weird reason I am always freaked out when I make shrimp. But you just threw it on a pizza so it must be easy! I hope I get to see you tomorrow at Kath’s meetup!
I’ve been wanting to try the egg white oats too but wasn’t sure how to do and I didn’t want to mess up a perfectly good bowl of oats! and there is nothing better than pizza and the office!
hi! I’ve been out of the blog loop but I’m trying for a comeback now, with a clean slate. my new digs: http://www.naturalfit.wordpress.com
running is my favorite stress buster. pizza + the office sound like good options too
have a great weekend!!
I’ve got to get my hands on one of those new Luna bars!
Good for you for getting on that treadmill. I can never manage to run long distances on one – I just get so bored!
Sorry to hear that your egg white oats didn’t turn out well. I haven’t made egg white oats in quite a while (I’m not exactly sure why!?!?) But here’s what I do- I cook the the oatmeal and liquid for 3 minutes or so then add I add the egg white and stir it in. It works well for me. Hopefully it will work for you.
