Do you have “casual Fridays” at work? Every Friday at my office, everyone wears jeans! It really does make the environment a little more relaxed.
A very long week has drawn to a close, and even though ti’s 8:45 on a Friday night, I can’t think of a place more appealing than bed right now! I got up at 5 this morning in order to get everything done before work, and although I rode a pretty steady stream of energy all day (bless you, Mr. Coffee), I “crashed” just after dinner. Old biddy is right!
I waited until 7 to make breakfast this morning, then mixed up the ingredients for Tina’s 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, substituting dried cherries.
It popped right out of the bowl without sticking at all! I topped the cookie with Greek yogurt, a banana, and agave nectar.
I was expecting this to be soft and moist like Gina‘s cookies, but this version had the texture and consistency of a real, baked cookie! I love them both; I’ll definitely use this recipe the next time I have a cookie craving but don’t want to make a whole batch.
At work, I snacked on a Fuji apple.
My lunch was of the “kitchen sick” variety; I shopped so well when I planned my meals that there was nothing extra in the fridge. I need to re-stock my produce tomorrow!
In the mix:
- sushi rice
- seaweed
- TJ’s Sorrento salad blend
- pineapple
- 1/3 block tempeh
- grape tomatoes
- feta cheese
- marinara sauce/ balsamic “dressing” (didn’t quite do it for me, so I borrowed some of Danielle’s Italian dressing
)
I also had yogurt…
Sunflower seeds…
And a Chocolate Peanut Butter Luna Protein Bar later in the afternoon. I loved this one, too! Again, it doesn’t exactly taste like a Reese’s, but it’s pretty delicious. Yep, there was a little mindless eating going on… just a case of the Fridays, I guess!
After work, Ilana and I tried to see the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA, but it was completely sold out by the time we got there. I’ve heard similar reports from other friends who have tried to go; I think the only way to actually get in is to go when they first open in the morning. I do hope I get to see it before it closes :-/
Dinner was quick, comforting, and straightforward: Annie’s Mac & Cheese with one small sweet potato, a can of tuna, and chili flakes. Loaded mac & cheese never gets old!
I wanted a special- but fast- dessert, so I made a dark chocolate peanut butter cup using a mix of flaxy peanut butter and almond butter. I kind of want another one, but I think I’ll be asleep by the time it freezes!
Tomorrow’s pretty booked, but I want to make sure I take some “me” time this weekend. I’ve been a little stressed this week, and I need to relax and rejuvenate. Any suggestions? The first step is getting some sleep!
Bonne nuit

I hear you on the sleep! I need more too. Here’s hoping you and I both catch some zzz’s this weekend!!!
I love your daily eats! Im in a similar position as you in terms of lunches and solo dinners and your meals have inspired my own!
Mmmmm…looks like a day of delicious eats!
Go for a massage! The ultimate in “me” time
love the shirt! and that ab cup looks awesome
I tried to go to the see the Tim Burton weeks ago and tried to get tickets 3 days in advance for a Tuesday visit, they were all sold out!! Good luck!
I love casual Wednesdays and Fridays at our office. I usually wear one of my many Polo shirts that have our logo on them. I’ve got 8 different colored shirts. lol
I see Yoga in your weekend to de-stress and some dark chocolate!
I haven’t seen those Luna bars around but they sound good!
I hope you get that “me” time. Sometimes a 30 min. massage is all it takes
Cute picture…I love casual days at the office.

The Luna Bar. Have it, still havent broken into it yet!
The ingredients for Tina’s 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie = lookin’ good!
The pic of you with the wine. OMG gorgeous. Something so beautiful, save that one. You will want that one in a few years
Mischevious, seductive, innocent, gorgeous, lovely. A Keeper!!! xoxo
That cookies looks good, I have to try it out! Same with the Luna Bar, as I haven’t seen the Protein variety around yet? Maybe I just missed it.
I was actually at the Tim Burton exhibit today too! Definitely packed on a Friday.
Here’s a tip: Apparently on Fridays, you have to go at 3 and wait on line to get a ticket. They start giving them out at 4. The first 1000 get tickets (limited access is making it extra tough!)
I don’t know if it works that way any other day, but good to know!
from one old biddy to another, i love ya. its 5am on a saturday morning and i am wide awake. that is not right.
yummo on the cookie, kitchen sink salad and that pb/ab cup! and yay for the weekend – so excited for the upwelling show tomorrow! have a great one my dear
Casual Fridays sounds like such a great idea! Your breakfast cookies looks like a real work of art:)
Sorry about the MOMA exhibit being sold out. I went on a Sunday morning (around 11) and it wasn’t crowded. You should definitely take some “me time” this weekend, it sounds like you’ve been working SO hard!
aww you look so cute in that pic!!

oh my goodness im dying to find that protein bar!! where did you find it? anything with a reeses flavor is FINE by me!! i do like the REAL reeses tho too
have a great day love!
I highly suggest curling up in your bed with some reading material. I’m cuddling with my computer right now and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning!
Busy busy lady! I wish my office did casual day! But its kind of a formal work environment, so I do understand why we have to stay dressed up every day. Lots of yummy eats- love the lunch variety. Sunflower seeds are SO good. Are the lunas made with whey protein? Let me know. How yummy does that PB cup look? I think you should take a nice walk (if its not too cold) and enjoy coffee and reading alone at a cozy coffee shop
I think this weekend should involve some of your favorite dessert platters, a good movie/tv reruns, and maybe a bubble bath?? I haven’t had one of those in FOREVER…but it sounds so appealing right now! Maybe with a glass of wine, too
Good to know that Tina’s 3-min oatmeal cookies came out delish!! I’ll def try that in, oh….a couple months, once i’m home again! Hahahaa
Actually, it involves oatmeal and a microwave, huh? I could totally make that here!!!

I want one of those peanut butter cups!!!!
My best friend from undergrad has been singing the praises of Annie’s mac and cheese for a while now and is committed to getting me to switch to it (because, yes, I still eat the Kraft fakey-fake kind). I think I’ll finally try it, since you have fantastic taste (no pun intended) in food!
Great eats!!
Your eats rock like you!!!!

I’m an old lady, too… it’s all good.
As for the rest and rejuvenation, I’m all about the massages!! I definitely need one, now that you brought it to mind…
<3 <3
I know you didn’t take the wine glass picture at work, but how awesome would it be if companies included drinking on the job as okay on casual friday? Hahaha.
Thanks for the heads up on the Tim Burton exhibit. I’ve been wanting to see it forever, but I too heard the crowds can be bad.
salut! just came across your blog and really enjoying it!
the cookies sound good but the chocolate cups sound better!
Your eats looks delish – espeically the bfast cookie and the peanut butter cup. I want to make both!
I want to see the Tim Burton Exhibit as well before it closes!
I think a long walk in nature is the perfect cure for the long-week-blues.
