This morning I woke up a few minutes earlier than usual, spandex-ed myself in hyperspeed, and tore out of the house for a 2 mile run before work. I didn’t even remember my watch (or RoadID), but I know I was fast today. When I got back, I kept the fast track going and got all ready with enough time to enjoy breakfast without leaving for work a minute late than usual.
Breakfast was a big bowl of yogurt, granola, banana + cinnamon.
Mid-morning, I snacked on a navel orange.
Lunch was over a pound of chili and cornbread. I was full for the rest of the afternoon!
My new water container was quite a hit today… it stands up all by itself, and holds 16 oz of liquid, more than the average bottle!
Sadly, while at work I missed The Upwelling‘s interview on Fearless Radio… did anyone happen to catch it?
When the workday ended, I met my parents at Turkish Cuisine in Hell’s Kitchen for an early pre-theater dinner. We toasted Tuesday; my mom had a glass of Chardonnay while I had Pinot Grigio.
Before my dad arrived at the restaurant, my mom and I split an order of Zucchini Cakes with tzatziki sauce. These were so good. Dr. Praeger, you’ve got nothing on these little fellas! We raved about them so much that my dad had to order them for himself.
We ate it with warm pita. I wasn’t too hungry for it at the time, but don’t worry… the remaining pieces came home with me!
For my entrée, I ordered grilled salmon with salad. The salad dressing was fantastic; it had all kinds of spices in it, like cumin and coriander! I’ll have to try this. I ate all of the salad but filled up about halfway through the salmon. Dads are good at times like these.
Before the play, I popped across the street to The Lite Choice for a small cup of almond butter frozen yogurt with chocolate chips.
The play we saw was the third and final in the Orphans Home Cycle series. It was my favorite of the three, and I was sad to see it end! I even stayed awake for all three acts.
I’m off to dreamland. Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Cool water bottle, Katie! Awesome find. Love the choco chip MANIA on your AB yogurt. I love TONS o chippies, too
Almond butter frozen yogurt?! I am definitely missing out. I’m glad to see your water bottle met your expectations – I’ll be keeping an eye out for one of those. That would be perfect for bringing with me when I travel. I hate getting dehydrated on planes and usually bring an empty bottle through security to fill up in the gate area, but they usually barely fit into my already stuffed carry-on.
I’ve passed by Turkish Kitchen a few times and was always curious about it. Your entree looks absolutely fantastic. I had a The Lite Choice yesterday as well and it was pretty bangin;)
I hope you enjoyed the play and great job on that awesome run!
I saw that play too and was sorry when it ended–I really wanted to know what happened to the characters. The playwright died last year, so unless someone finds a hidden suitcase with more plays, we’ll never know.
Hey, Katie!
Such delicious eats
Loved the pics!
Almond Butter Fro-Yo?
Must be out of this world!
Have a nice Wednesday.
Brazilian Kisses,
Gabriela a.k.a. Fro-Yo Lover
Sounds like an interesting play! And your meal (dessert included) looks delicious!
Also– your mom is so pretty! She looks like a classy lady
Strange as it may sound, I LOVE the picture of the orange. ;p I’m as much of an old biddy as you say you are… or maybe more, because I passed out earlier.
That water bottle is one of the coolest things ever.
<3 <3
I like your water bottle! I’ve never seen that before.
And if going to bed at 11:45 makes you Old Biddy, then I’m a grandma too
That water bottle is sweet! Love it!!!
The turkish place you and your parents went to looks like it is good, I love me some warm pita bread!!!!!!!!!
Glad the play was good, when you dont fall asleep you know its amazing!!!

That chili looks so perfect–hearty and warm. Yum!
Woohoo for a Speedy Gonzales run!! I don’t think I can properly express how jealous I am of that Froyo combo – almond butter?! Really?!?! Guess I need to go to NYC
I am loving the water bottle! I need a water bottle regardless, but carrying it around after it’s all gone seems to take up a lot of space, so that looks perfect! And pink is a winner color for me. ^^
Ahh that water bottle is so cute!
And the ALMOND BUTTER fro yo sounds divine!! I’ve always seen the peanut butter flavors, but never the almond butter!! Looove the yogurt mess (as per usual) and the fun dinner out with your mama! Warm, doughy pita bread sounds amazing right now.
Sorry you missed the boys interview, but hey in this day and age I guarantee you’ll find it on the internet in no time!!
MMM that bowl of chili looks yummy
