No Scrap Left Behind

Afternoon, Chickadees! I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Unfortunately, I’m a little under the weather and am really not up to writing or staring at a screen for too long.  Luckily I started working on this Saturday, or I’d really be in trouble. There will be a lot more photos than words, but please enjoy!

Saturday I met up with the lovely Maya at Bonobo’s.  We could have talked for hours!

We both ordered Nori Wraps, which I’ve ordered every time.  Delicious!

I like mixing dressings here. The Diablo is very spicy, so I cut some of the heat with Sweet Basil.

Maya and I split a Coconut Chai shake… it really tastes like liquid heaven.

After our lunch date, I met a friend at Starbucks for coffee. I didn’t want too much caffeine as it was almost 4, so I stuck to a cup of Vanilla Rooibos tea with a splash of soy milk. (Don’t mind my chipped polish!)

Did some light reading and munched on fresh fruit and veggies when I got home…

Quick Japanese feast for dinner…

PVP (Papa Veggie) trekked down to The Lite Choice to pick up a cup of almond butter frozen yogurt with mini chocolate chips.  What a guy!

I was up pretty late cooking, and in a moment of kitchen stress- my pesto wouldn’t “pest”!- reached for a Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffle my mom had picked up at Godiva.

Sunday was spent in a flurry of activity: we had our annual holiday party last night.  (Read about last year’s party here.)

When our guests arrived, we greeted them with Manhattans.

Recognize that girl?

We had fine cheeses

Caviar puffs (we dream about these all year)…

Coconut Crab Soup

Red Cabbage w/ Apples & Toasted Walnuts

Double Broccoli Quinoa

White Wine form Alsace

Homemade Strawberry Sorbet to cleanse the palate…

Almond-Orange Cake

Chipotle-Spiced Brownies

Lemon-Custard Sponge Cake w/ raspberry sauce

You can bet I went back for seconds on everything!  It was a great party.

Well, it’s back to bed I go.  I’ve already slept for six hours today, but I’m still not feeling great.  Have a lovely day :-)
