Morning
. Happy almost-weekend to you! Hope the week’s been painless- but interesting! for you.
Woke up to a big bowl of cereal for breakfast yesterday morning:

- Kashi GoLean
- almond milk
- dollop of Greek yogurt <—- if you still haven’t tried the yogurt + milk thing, do it! It makes for great consistency.
- 1/2 banana
- donut peach
Ran very important errands in the morning (including painting my nails “Jazz”), and then had one of those days when nothing in the fridge sounded appetizing. I went the easy route and made two different open-faced sandwiches on whole wheat toast: hummus, heirloom tomato, sea salt + pepper and almond butter and cherry jam.

Being inside during the day (it was pouring!) always makes me super snack-y. Peach-flavored Chobani to quell the munchies:

I received a huge box of popchips in the mail… if you happen to be over at my place in the next few weeks, don’t be surprised if I try to pawn some off on you!

I tried the sour cream & onion flavor… pretty good! I was a big Pringles fan back in the day, and these were just as addicting.

Met a friend for drinks before dinner… white wine for me, and a whole lotta crackers!

Didn’t spoil my appetite, though… and good thing! Sofia came over for dinner. We made a feast out of sautéed CSA veggies (carrots, swiss chard, kale, bell pepper, jalapeño), served over brown rice and topped with avocado and tahini dressing.

And our entertainment for the night? Dawson’s Creek! Yes, ladies (and gentleman), you read that right. A couple weeks ago one of our conversations randomly turned to the Creek, and when I mentioned I owned the first two seasons we knew we had to start watching them. And, holy moly, the Pilot is so intense! We were rapt. One difference between the first time we watched it (in 1998) and now, however, is that we’re old enough to drink beer!. I’m pretty sure that Dawson and Joey would not have eaten the above meal, however
.

A peach for dessert. We’re coming to the end of our CSA season, which makes me so sad! I’ve so enjoyed having fresh fruits and veggies each week.

Did you watch any “classic WB” shows when they were on? I watched almost all of them! 7th Heaven, Buffy, Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Popular…

Loved gilmore girls and still watch the reruns on occasion and, I’ll admit it, I’m still watching one tree hill. I’m glad that this will be the last season though, it’s gotten so ridiculous. By the way, pop chips = delicious!
haha, i watch dawsons creek reruns all through college…they had that 2 hour block that always fit right in between my classes! i stil LOVE LOVE LOVE gilmore girls! and id be in big trouble if that box of pop chips arrived at my apt…i love those things!!
I was quite obsessed with Felicity on DVD during college. Was that on the WB?
Dawson’s Creek was my favorite showing growing up. I used to have to hide it from my dad though because he banned it from our house. Wow, if he only knew the shows out there now…LoL.
That cereal looks sooooo good! Just found your blog and love it!
i am a total convert on the greek yougrt + milk combo. it sounds bizarre but is totally delicious!
omg, so much drama in just the pilot. can’t wait til episode 2!!
aaand i loved 7th heaven. and buffy. and especially DC, obviously.
Dawson’s! Loved that show (I still can’t believe Joey married Tom Cruise…). I haven’t tried the yogurt + milk thing- but definitely will now!!)
Love this post. I used to live in Wilmington, NC in the early 2000′s which is where they filmed D.C. I used to do yoga with Katie Holmes a decade++ ago in a total HOLE in the wall yoga studio. Long before she was anywhere near as famous and I’d run into the cast of D.C. at the local bars in town. This was a SLEEPY town in the middle of NC…kinda the middle of no where
I love popchips. I’m afraid that box wouldn’t last very long in my house. I never got in to Dawson’s Creek, although I feel like I’d like starting it from the beginning, with a legal beer of course!
I think I’ve told you, but my little sister is a tad hooked on the Gilmore Girls. She has taken to coming home from school for lunch w/ her friend and watching an episode while they eat. Strangely, she doesn’t seem to appreciate it if I join in and attempt to explain every pop culture/lit/history reference that I can…
The real question is…. which classic WB shows did I NOT watch when they were on?
i love that you guys got together to watch dawson’s. i was a huge wb nut as well, mostly due to an obsession with buffy that lasted from season 2 through the very end. the only one i never really did was 7th heaven. too wholesome for me haha.
i’m sad that your csa is ending! you should get the parents to invest in a fall share. or meet me at the farmers market on saturdays. either one.
Yep. Was a huge WB fan. Loved Dawson’s Creek (hey, did the pilot of the sea monster movie they were filming? For some reason I remember a sea monster and Joey getting jealous of Jen) Loved! Loved! Loved Gilmore Girls! Got on to Buffy later on, watched Smallville for awhile, and, ahem, I may still watch One Tree Hill
haha okay first of all cafe bustella coffee (or however you spell it is seriously LEGIT coffee) haha it’s SO good. we drink it all the time in the office
second of all i DEMAND a dawson’s date. haha i haven’t watched in forever and i was just talking with my coworker the other day how we couldnt believe that michelle williams became such a good actress haha. p.s. i’m free any weekend after next weekend!!!!
Ooh! Love the idea of having two sandwiches in one
I was really into 7th Heaven back in the day!
i never watched the wb growing up! i know. i mainly was hooked on nickelodeon and then bravo came around, and oh boy…. haha!
i’d do anything for a csa!!! sadly, there are none where i live :[ the perks of going to school in oklahoma, i suppose.
I have been watching Felicity on netflix this week, and now I really want to watch Dawson’s Creek! My mom and I used to love Roswell, Charmed, and Gilmore Girls. I think those were all on the WB.
I have been really enjoying seeing all your CSA goodies lately. Which do you use? I have been looking into signing up for one, but I can’t decide.
Butch is begging me to ask you to save him some pop chips.
