Good morning, friends! How are you? Have you found a way to make Friday special?
I know that sounds so cheesy, but I really think it’s important to get your day started on the right foot/ side of the bed, etc. Yesterday morning, because I had a little extra time, I decided to stray from my normal breakfasts and make a batch of Hot Apple Pie Pancakes . (My pancake flip is getting pretty good, by the way!) I topped mine with Greek yogurt, diced apple (microwaved with cinnamon for 2 minutes) and agave nectar.

I spent most of the day working on homework… we’re studying genetics in biology, which is much more interesting than (re)learning about the mitochondria and cytoplasm. But it sure does make me hungry faster than reading fiction!
Lunch was a variety of random things, nearly all (excepting the hummus) from the CSA! That gives me such a feeling of dorky satisfaction, I have to say.

- 1 red bell pepper
- green beans
- celery <— not very crisp because of the storms we’ve had lately
- roasted pattypan squash/ butternut squash
- garlic hummus
Also, some chocolate squares. Because life is better with dark chocolate. And hey! My phone works again!

By the time I was ready to exercise I didn’t have a whole lot of time left, so I went for a quick two mile run (in the rain!), showered, and headed to class.
Anna was in town for the night, so she, Danielle and I met for dinner at Heidi’s House By The Side of the Road.

The Upper East Side often gets a lot of flack for being kind of anonymous and uninteresting, but this restaurant was such a gem! It had so much character and charm, and it was easy to see that the owner, Heidi (who was around waiting tables and talking to customers) really cared. (As did the wait staff.)
I started with a glass of Gavi, a white wine introduced to me by Anna.

I am on a taco kick right now, so I ordered the shrimp tacos. The corn tortillas were soft but then fried, which I could have done without, but still really delicious! Note to self: make tacos asap.

Danielle and I continued our night at Pil Pil for another glass of wine… we’re keeping up the romance!
Hard to believe it’s Friday already… quite a few things to do this weekend! Starting with getting my boo-tay to school. What are you up to this weekend?

Oh your pancakes are gorgeous! And now that they make vegan Greek yogurt, I’ll have to try your topping idea!
I can’t believe it’s Friday either…I think the holidays will be here before we know it!! (yikes)
Shrimp tacos are wonderful!
Today I get to see my niece, who I haven’t seen since coming back from 3 months in Australia – so excited
It appears as though I am in deep contemplation of my wine. Thanks for suggesting this place- it had a ton of character!
Mmm I love Gavi. I’m heading to Astoria tonight for dinner with friends and then probably spending the rest of the weekend studying for a Biochem exam and wrapping up a few projects.
Yay! My Blackberry is working again too!!! I didn’t realize how attached I was until it wasn’t working.
I’m hitting some Zumba classes and taking Pickles to the neighborhood Yappy Hour!!!
I’m shopping with my daughter, seeing old friends, going to museums, and sleeping till I wake up. How great is that?
Those pancakes look amazing. I love anything with tons of toppings
Blackberries weren’t working? I’m abroad and I don’t have mine, so maybe I’m glad I didn’t experience the malfunction.
This weekend I’m working in the community garden and going Marketing in London!
