1. On a cold and rainy day, only a hot breakfast will do.

Pumpkin cakes!

- 1/2- 2/3 pumpkin purée
- 1 egg white
- pinch each cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves, ginger, salt
- 1/2 tsp sweetener (optional)
stir stir stir
Depending on the size of your bowl, you’ll need to microwave it for about 3 minutes or so. Because I used a big ramekin, mine was closer to 4:30.
Toppings:
- Greek yogurt
- cinnamon
- banana
- chunky peanut butter
Nom nom nom.
2. That muscle I always pull? In the same spot on my back? It’s inflamed again. It happens a handful times a year (probably from Saturday’s spontaneous long run), and it is literally always in the same spot. It feels like a spot I need to crack, but nothing releases it. To add insult to injury, this time it’s traveled up the right side of my body and into my neck, too. Whenever I turn my head to the left, I feel tension and soreness from the base of my skull to the side of my right shoulder blade.
This stretch helps, but are there any massage therapists-in-training looking for bodies to practice on? I’m happy to volunteer for the cause

5. Thanks to your suggestions, I’ve got some ideas for my Fall fruit stash… which doubled in size yesterday when I went to my CSA.

This week has felt so strange…. I thought it was Thursday on Tuesday, and now that it’s Thursday, it feels like Wednesday. As long as I don’t wake up tomorrow and forget to go to school and take my Chemistry test, I can make it to the weekend!
I hope it’s as beautiful where you are as it is here. New York in the Fall (ignoring the blustery wind) is truly a sight to be seen. Hope to do some exploring this weekend!

oh my goddd i totally forgot about just plain pumpkin cakes! mm i totally want one right now haha. i’m always using pumpkin to make cakes with flour but i forgot how amazing it is just solo with an egg white. thanks mama!!

1. my entire body feels like jello from yoga this morning, and the class wasn’t even that hard.
2. i am so excited to not travel anywhere until thanksgiving.
3. i’m turning 26 in 4 days!
4. i tried bourbon + hot cider for the first time in maine last weekend, and i cannot stop thinking about buying a bottle of bourbon.

I repeated pull the same muscle too–I come down with piriformis syndrome every few months! Agh!
1) AWESOME football game last night. My school’s team beat our rival, which hasn’t happened in years!
2) I kept smelling this weird berry-like smell coming from under the stands.
3) Sometimes at cross country practice there’s this street that smells like this strong weird cinnamon.
4) Once at cross country practice we saw a dead chihuahua.
5) I’m a weirdo. Maybe I shouldn’t try to write down the first five things I think of. Because I am very sorry you have to read about a dead chihuahua.
